Terms of Service
Last updated July 10, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you (“you”, the “Customer”, or the "Client") and me, doing business as JohnnyPlaid (“I,” “me,” or “my”). They govern your use of johnnyplaid.com and any related sites, dashboards, or tools I provide, and your purchase or use of my unlimited design and AI subscription service (together, the “Services”).
By creating an account, starting a subscription, submitting a request, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to my Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
If you are signing up on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company, and “you” includes that company.
These Terms are written for a one-person practice. I do the work myself. That is the product.
TL;DR
You subscribe. I work one request at a time from the dashboard, no meetings. Most small work lands in about two business days; bigger work takes longer and I will say so. Revisions go back in the queue. New monthly customers can leave in the first week and get 75% of one month back. After that you can pause and bank unused days, or cancel future charges. I do the design; AI stays in the back room unless you ask me to humanize a model’s output. You own paid final deliverables except stock, fonts, and platform features. I may show work in my portfolio unless you flag it at delivery. Planned time off pauses everyone with two weeks’ notice; paid days wait for you. You pay Framer and other tools directly.
The Service
JohnnyPlaid is an unlimited design, UX, and AI subscription. For a flat recurring fee you may add as many requests as you want to your queue. I work one request at a time.
“Unlimited” means an unlimited queue and unlimited revision requests while your subscription is active. It does not mean I work on multiple requests at once, attend meetings, produce written plans, or take on work listed in Section 8.
Included work, when it fits the queue model, typically covers:
UI and visual design (web, app, product, marketing, brand, social, decks, email, and similar)
Framer website design and build
UX consulting for digital or non-digital parts of a business
AI and automation requests that can be scoped as a single queued item
Unlimited revisions to delivered work, submitted as new queue items
I design from experience and reasonable assumptions so turnaround stays fast. You correct course with revisions. That is the process, not a fallback.
Plans, billing, and payment
2.1 Plans
You may subscribe monthly or prepay six months at a time. The six-month plan is 20% off the then-current monthly rate.
Current prices are shown at signup and checkout. Those prices control. I may change future pricing with notice; a change does not alter a prepaid six-month term already paid.
2.2 How billing works
Subscriptions renew automatically. Payment is charged to the payment method you saved at signup on the first day of each billing cycle.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Card data and payment security are handled under Stripe’s terms and policies. I do not store full card numbers.
You authorize recurring charges until you cancel or pause. You are responsible for keeping payment details current and for any taxes that apply.
2.3 Failed payments
If a charge fails, I may pause work and access until payment succeeds. Repeated failures may result in cancellation. Unused paused days are not added for time the account is suspended for non-payment.
2.4 Six-month plans
A six-month plan is prepaid for six billing cycles at the discounted rate. When that prepaid term ends, the subscription renews monthly at the then-current monthly rate unless you buy another six-month term or cancel before renewal.
Pause and cancel
You may pause or cancel at any time.
3.1 Pause
Pause stops further billing. Unused days left in the current paid cycle are banked and used when you resume.
When you resume, those unused days run first. I will not bill again until banked days are used, unless you pause again before they run out. If you pause again, remaining unused days bank again.
Example: you have a cycle with 31 paid days, use 10, and pause. 21 days bank. On resume those 21 days are live. If you pause after 8 of them, 13 days remain banked.
Banked days do not expire while the account exists and is only paused. They are forfeited if you cancel.
If I have already accepted a request and am working on it when you pause, I will finish and deliver that request. I will not accept the next item in your queue until you resume.
3.2 Cancel
Cancel stops the next charge. You keep access through the last day of the current paid cycle. Unused banked days from a prior pause are forfeited on cancel. Cancellation does not refund time already paid except as described in Section 4.
I will keep working the queue as usual through that last paid day. If I have already accepted a request and am working on it when you cancel, I will finish and deliver it. If a request is still active when the cycle ends, I will still finish and deliver it unless that would be unreasonable (for example, a full site that would run weeks past the end date). In that case I will tell you what I can complete by then and what will not be started.
3.3 How to pause or cancel
Use the account or billing controls where provided, or email. Pause or cancel before the next charge if you do not want to be billed again.
3.4 Planned time off
I am a one-person practice. I take planned breaks.
For a planned absence I will tell active customers at least two weeks ahead. During that absence every active plan is paused. Billing stops. Unused paid days bank and stay available when I return. Plans resume on the date I announced unless you cancel before then.
If a request is already in progress when the break starts, I will either finish and deliver it before I leave or park it and pick it up when I return. I will tell you which, when I announce the dates.
This is the same pause mechanic as Section 3.1. I do not issue a separate credit or take an extra amount off the next invoice. The days you already paid simply wait for you.
Unplanned illness or emergency may force a shorter notice. In that case I will pause the same way as soon as I can.
First-week fit and refunds
A subscription is a real month of my calendar. I still want a new customer to be able to walk if the fit is wrong after seeing actual work.
If this is your first JohnnyPlaid subscription, and you ask to cancel within 7 days of the first successful charge, I will return 75% of one month’s fee at the monthly rate then in effect. I keep the other 25% for the week I reserved and any work already delivered. All work on any active requests at the time of cancelation will stop.
If you prepaid six months and cancel in that same 7-day window, I keep 25% of one month and return the rest of the prepaid amount.
This first-week adjustment:
Must be requested in the dashboard or by email before the end of day 7
Applies once, to a new customer / company, on the first subscription only
Is “no argument required.” You do not have to justify the work
Does not restart if you subscribe again later
After that window, fees are earned. Pause and cancel still work. I do not refund unused days, unused six-month time, or a cycle you already started using.
If a law where you live requires a different remedy, that law controls to that extent only.
Chargebacks opened without first contacting me may result in immediate termination and forfeiture of access and banked days.
The queue
5.1 One request at a time
You add requests to the dashboard queue in the order you want them done. I accept the next request at the top when I am free.
Once I accept a request and start, I work it through to delivery. I will not stop mid-request to jump to something else.
Reorder the queue before I accept the next item. After I accept it, changes of direction are a new request and go to the back of the queue.
5.2 What counts as one request
One request is one coherent deliverable I can start and finish as a unit: one screen set, one landing page, one logo direction cycle, one consulting report, one scoped AI build, and similar. A full website, app UI, or complex AI project is still one request, but it will take longer than a small graphic.
I may split an oversized request into sequenced queue items if that is the only way to deliver it sanely. I will tell you if I do.
5.3 Revisions
Unlimited design includes unlimited revisions. A revision is a new queue item, same as any other request. I do not interrupt an active request to revise something else.
Revisions are available only while your subscription is active. After cancel, I am not obligated to revise prior work.
5.4 Delivery timing
Most small requests are delivered within 2 business days after I accept them. Larger work (full Framer sites, app UI, complex AI) takes longer.
If I accept a request and expect more than 2 business days, I will give you an estimate. Estimates are good-faith and not deadlines. I may shorten or extend them within a reasonable time as the work and discoveries require.
On any request that runs longer than 2 business days, I will send a progress update at least every 2 business days.
Business days are Monday–Friday, U.S. Eastern Time, excluding U.S. federal holidays and any days I have announced I am unavailable. I may be slower around those dates.
5.5 What I need from you
Requests should include enough to start: goal, references, constraints, assets, and access. If I cannot start without something, the request waits in the queue and the 2-day clock does not start until I have it.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you send and for having the rights to send it.
How I work
6.1 Dashboard only
All request communication happens in the design request dashboard (Trello or a successor I provide). That keeps every customer on the same process.
I do not take design briefings or meetings with marketing, sales, leadership, or anyone else before or after delivery. I do not hop on Zoom to “quickly sync.” If it is not in the dashboard, it is not in the workstream.
Questions that are part of an active request can live on that request card. New work still goes in the queue.
6.2 Assumption-based design
I do not produce wireframes, mockups, written briefs, strategy decks, or project plans before starting a design unless the request itself is for a wireframe or mockup. I do not write content.
I design. Briefs, copy, and internal alignment stay on your side.
6.3 Placeholder content
Sites, apps, and similar large work often ship with placeholder copy and media. I will tell you how to replace it in the tool I used (Framer, Figma, or similar). Replacing content is your job unless you queue that as its own request and it is design work, not copywriting.
6.4 Who does the work
Every design is done by me, in person. I may use AI inside my own shop to handle workflow, project management, research scaffolding, or repetitive production chores. I do not hand your request to a model and call the raw output a delivery.
6.5 Availability and capacity
I am one person. I may limit roster size, decline new subscribers, or delay accepting a queued item if capacity is full. Existing active subscribers are not bumped mid-request.
I may refuse or close a request that is out of scope, unlawful, abusive, or a poor fit.
Websites (Framer only)
I build websites in Framer only. Existing-site redesigns and new sites are designed and implemented in Framer if the project can be implemented there. If it cannot, I will say so and I may decline that build (consulting on it is still fine).
You must have (or create) your own Framer account and plan to receive and publish the site. I do not pay Framer for you. I will tell you when a request will need a Framer subscription or other third-party plan.
A JohnnyPlaid subscription is not required to keep using a delivered Framer site. After delivery, the site runs on your Framer account and your hosting.
If you do not want your site to be moved to or built with Framer, you may still request a website design but the asset delivered will be the design only, no development/coding will be included. You will be responsible for implementing and developing the design on your end.
Work I do not do
I do not accept production work for:
3D design
Animation or motion graphics
Video
Print production work such as vehicle wraps, book covers and interior illustrations or spreads, and complex expo or conference booths
Complex form systems (medical, legal, lengthy onboarding, financial, and similar)
I will consult on those topics as a queued consulting request. Consulting is not the same as producing the asset.
I also do not:
Write marketing or website copy as a deliverable
Provide ongoing community management, ads-account operation, or “done-for-you” marketing retainers
Guarantee search rankings, conversion rates, revenue, or funding outcomes
Practice law, medicine, accounting, or licensed financial advice
Consulting requests
UX consulting is a normal queue item. It is not limited to digital products. You may request help on internal processes, team experience, outreach, workflows, services, UI, retail/in-person customer experience, etc.
Send as much or as little context as I need to understand the problem, within reason. I will not join workshops to gather that context.
Delivery is a short written report: observations, assumptions, ideas, opinions, advice, and whatever else is needed to answer the request. It is professional judgment, not a certified audit, and not a promise that your business will get a particular result if you follow it.
Implementation of the advice is a separate design or AI request, or work you do internally.
You may also queue a request to have your own AI-generated designs or content reviewed or repaired by me. I will treat that like any other design request: look at what the model produced, then redo or refine it so it is actually designed for humans by a human, not just cleaned up.
AI requests and my other company
AI requests work like any other request. A short summary of what you need is enough to start; I will ask if I am missing something essential.
I also run a separate agentic AI product for revenue recovery and task automation. If a JohnnyPlaid request is a better fit for that product, I may tell you it exists and that JohnnyPlaid customers will get a discount. I will not push it unless the request points that way or you ask.
That product has its own signup, billing, and terms. A JohnnyPlaid subscription does not include it. Using it is optional.
AI output can be wrong. You must review anything I deliver before you rely on it in production, especially anything that touches money, customers, or automated messages.
Third-party tools and costs
You pay all third-party costs a request needs: Framer, hosting, domains, fonts, Zapier, Make, model APIs, app stores, and similar. I do not collect those fees or mark them up through JohnnyPlaid.
I will flag requests that create ongoing third-party cost before I depend on that tool.
I am not responsible for those vendors’ uptime, pricing, or policy changes. If a vendor changes and a delivered file needs migration, that is a new request.
Ownership and licenses
12.1 Your stuff
You keep ownership of materials you provide (brand assets, copy, data, product shots, and similar). You grant me a limited license to use them solely to perform the Services.
12.2 Deliverables
Subject to full payment for the cycle in which the work was delivered, and excluding the items in 12.3, I assign to you the intellectual property I create in the final delivered files for that request.
Until that cycle is paid, I retain all rights in the work.
12.3 What does not transfer
The following do not become yours just because they appear in a file:
Stock photos, fonts, icons, templates, and other third-party licensed items (those stay under their own licenses; you must keep a valid license to keep using them)
Framer, Figma, or other platform features that belong to those companies
My pre-existing tools, methods, component patterns, and know-how
The JohnnyPlaid name, site, dashboard, and non-client content
12.4 Portfolio
I may show delivered work in my portfolio, site, and social profiles so people can see what I actually make. I will not sell, redistribute, or white-label your deliverable as someone else’s design.
If you do not want a piece shown, tell me when I deliver it. Typical reasons: an unreleased product or a quiet launch. I will hold that piece.
If you give no launch date, I will wait a reasonable time — no more than six weeks from delivery — then I may publish a version with branding and identifying content removed so it cannot be tied back to you. If you later want it taken down or delayed further, email me and I will handle it in good faith.
12.5 After you cancel
You keep deliverables already assigned under 12.2. I do not have to host files, keep dashboard access, or maintain third-party accounts for you after the paid period ends. Download what you need before access ends.
Your responsibilities
You agree that you will:
Use the Services only for lawful business purposes
Not submit work that infringes someone else’s rights
Not request anything fraudulent, defamatory, or that I reasonably believe could cause harm
Not abuse the queue (for example, flooding it to game capacity, or demanding meetings after agreeing to these Terms)
Not share login access in a way that lets a non-customer treat JohnnyPlaid as their in-house team under your plan, except teammates working on your account
Review deliverables and AI output before public or production use
I may suspend or cancel an account that breaks these rules. Fees already paid are still non-refundable.
Confidentiality
I will not share your non-public business information except with tools needed to do the work (Framer, Figma, Stripe, the dashboard, model providers when an AI request requires them), or if the law requires it. See the Privacy Policy for how I handle personal data.
You should not put secrets in a request that you are not willing to have processed by those tools.
Websites and accounts
I may refuse or close accounts, remove content from my site or dashboard, and change features of the Services. I am not liable for downtime of the dashboard, email, Stripe, Framer, or other vendors.
Do not scrape, attack, or reverse engineer the site or dashboard.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS.” I DO NOT WARRANT THAT DELIVERABLES WILL BE ERROR-FREE, THAT A SITE WILL RANK OR CONVERT, THAT AN AI AGENT WILL RECOVER REVENUE, OR THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, I DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Design and consulting are professional opinions and craft. You decide what to ship.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, I AM NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
MY TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE FEES YOU PAID ME FOR THE SERVICES IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
Some places do not allow certain limits. In those places, the limit applies to the fullest extent allowed.
Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify me against claims arising from: materials you provided; your use of the deliverables; your third-party accounts and fees; or your violation of these Terms or of law.
Term, changes, and assignment
These Terms last while you use the Services or have an account.
I may update these Terms. The “Last Updated” date will change. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use after an update is acceptance. If you do not agree, pause or cancel before the next cycle.
You may not assign your subscription without my written consent. I may assign these Terms if the practice is transferred.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Except where prohibited, exclusive venue is the state or federal courts located in South Carolina.
If a section is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement for the Services and replace prior discussions about them.
No waiver is implied by delay. Headings are for reading, not for interpretation.

I will flag requests that create ongoing third-party cost before I depend on that tool.
